Entschuldigt bitte, dass seit dem letzten Eintrag gar so viel Zeit verstrichen ist. Da ich nun immer mehr Aufgaben zugeteilt bekomme und Abends meist noch einkaufen/waschen/telefonieren/aufräumen/... muss kam ich einfach noch nicht dazu.

Zuersteinmal möchte ich mich ganz, ganz herzlich für all die Nachrichten bedanken, die ich in den letzten Tagen so erhalten habe. Glaubt mir: es freut mich jedes mal ungeheuerlich von Euch zu hören!!! Beschämender Weise gilt hier jedoch selbiges wie bereits erwähnt: ich kam noch nicht einmal annähernd dazu jedem zu antworten, bitte verzeiht es mir!!! OF COURSE I get even after, for sure!

Anstatt mir allerdings die Stadt zu zeigen wollte Tyron unbedingt auf den Signall Hill.. und das war auch in Ordnung! Von diesem "Berg" aus (auf dessen Plateu man Gott sei Dank mit dem Auto hochfahren kann) hat man dann einen wunderschönen Blick auf Kapstadt, den Atlantik und den Tafelberg. Meine Wohngegend befindet sich übrigens auf der zum Meer gewandten Hangseite dieses Berges.


Anschließend fuhr ich dann mit another fellow student of Tyron and Malte to Camps Bay, an absolute Nobel district not far from my accommodation. Here are invariably million-dollar luxury villas, all built into the slope and therefore with a sea view.

Und da der Reiseführer dazu rät seine Tickets während der Hauptsaison mind. 3 Wochen (!) im Vorraus zu kaufen konnte es sicherlich nicht schaden sich nen Wecker zu 8 Uhr zu stellen und den Reiseveranstalter vorher mal anzurufen.. ;)
Es waren auch nur noch Plätze für die 11 Uhr Tour zu haben, und generell hinterlegen Sie keine Karten auf telefonische Anfrage. Wir gingen deshalb vorsorglich to get hold of a very early stage to the waterfront to our tickets and then had breakfast quite chilling in a coffee shop in the harbor.

Die letzten Tage bin ich die Beach-Road abgelaufen und war immer wieder an der Waterfront. Dieser Stadtteil ist neben der LongStreet das Vorzeigeviertel Kapstadt. Hier gibt es unzählige Restaurants, Geschäfte, ...

Außerdem war ich auf dem Tafelberg !!!!
Viel hatte ich ja ehrlich gesagt aufgrund der mir bisher bekannten Fotos nicht erwartet... Aber wer ach immer mal die Möglichkeit dazu haben sollte:
Lasst es euch nicht entgehen !! Fotos können anscheinend nur keinen ausreichenden Eindruck vermitteln, denn es war einfach phantastisch !!!

Two times we were quite rudely awakened when the plane fell into violent turmoil:

Beim Landeanflug nach Kapstadt gab der Flieger statt einer Tafelberg-Aussicht die nicht enden wollenden Wellblechhütten und Trampelpfade preis, die sich in dem Township da unter mir fast bis zum Horizont ausbreiten. SCHOCK !

Vom Flughafen wurde ich durch eine Afrikanische Sekretärin abgeholt und erfuhr, dass Sie mich nicht in mein Appartement sondern gleich mit Sack und Pack direkt zur Baustelle fährt. Als fünftes Rad am Wagen saß ich dort dann auch erst mal auf laid indefinitely. And everyone answered the same question most important to me: "Internet for your home? Ohhhhh, very difficult, we have almost no Internet. Insanely expensive here in South Africa, we always skype after working in the office. "

So without internet I would really not be here six months locked down .. :-( Not even a single day to be exact ...

Die Kollegen scheinen keinen Schritt aus dem Haus zu machen und immer nur mit dem Auto zu fahren.. Nun bin ich dennoch einfach zu Fuß zur Waterfront... war ich lebensmüde ? Oder übertreiben alle, schließlich sehe ich Nachts auf dem Heimweg unzählige aufgetakelte Frauen wie selbstverständlich alleine umherlaufen (Farbige sowie Weiße).. wenn die sich frei bewegen, dann kann man doch davon ausgehen, dass die Gegend sicher ist (?!) Um meine Kamera mach ich mir dennoch große Sorgen, das gute Stück will ich mir AUF KEINEN FALL stehlen lassen.

Und mittendrin Luxusvillen umrahmt mit Stachel- und Elektrodrahtzäunen und gut sichtbaren sinngemäßen Tafeln: „bewaffnete Nachbarschaftshilfe.. Dieses Haus besitzt Security-Service“.

Natürlich wusste ich eigentlich von all dem und konnte mich somit auch drauf einstellen.. eigentlich.

Aber ich bin einfach zu verwirrt von diesen „selbstverständlichen“ Europäischen Elementen und den gar so fremden Afrikanischen. Ob ich da reinpasse.. (?)
