So löst Rosh Hashana eine zehn Tage Periode aus, in der Gebet, Selbstprüfung und Umkehr geübt wird, und die dann in den höchsten heiligen Feiertag, den Tag der Sühne, auch Versöhnungstag, dem JOM KIPUR mündet. Diese zehn Tage werden "Jamim Norai'm " genannt, die Tage der Ehrfurcht oder die höchsten heiligen Tage.
